TO MAKE IS TO LIVE
TO MAKE IS TO LIVE
Hello
My name is Ruthie. I am a brand designer specializing in resilient, functional, and meaningful design solutions and identity. Let’s make a statement and difference together. Big, small, & everywhere in-between.
KEEP GETTING UP
(I)
MARKETING STUDY / PHOTOGRAPHY
“Keep Getting Up” is an independent marketing study inspired by the struggles rock climbers face through personal injury, discouragement, & lack of supportive influences. This project seeks to empower.
WONDER
(II)
PRINT MEDIA / COMPETITION
This booklet is the result of my winning vision in a design competition. Combining imagination, thoughtful design, and a strong sense of purpose, this design captures the wonderful sense of wonder.
ANDEN
(III)
SOCIAL MEDIA / INTERNSHIP
For my summer graphic design internship at AprilAire Co., I designed the social media graphics for their sister company, Anden, a leading presence in professional environmental control.
CROSS PLAINS BROCHURE
(IV)
PRINT MEDIA / FREELANCE
Commissioned by the town of Cross Plains, WI to design a seasonal newsletter, I designed a double-sided trifold brochure inspired by the autumn weather.
SHAPE RELATIONSHIPS
(V)
SOCIAL MEDIA
A guide and exploration of shape relationships within graphic arts created for Valentine’s Day.
THE HIPPIE HUT
(VI)
BRANDING STUDY / HONORS PROJECT
The Hippie Hut is a wellness and lifestyle boutique offering high-quality personal care and household products, standing out with their in-house artisanal soaps. I branded this business concept in one semester under the supervision of faculty member, Laura Cherry, for the Honors Program at Madison College.
THE “NOBLE” EXPERIMENT
(VII)
MARKETING / PRODUCT DESIGN
Inspired by the history of the 1920 Prohibition, I designed a gift kit for whiskey-lovers.
THE LEAKY MUG
(VII)
BRANDING STUDY
The Leaky Mug is a college café offering late-night, early-morning hours, specialty coffee beverages, fast food, & a reliable third-space sanctuary for burnt-out, determined students to refill & restart.
EXPERIMENTAL WORKS
(IX)
EDITORIAL / POSTER / BRANDING / CONCEPT ART
In my design practice, I enjoy experimenting widely with a diverse mix of mediums, methodology, softwares, projects, technologies, and visual styles.
